Stearns, Overcome With Grief, Waiting to Arrange Funeral for the Three—The tragedy of the steamer Eastland, which overturned at Chicago last Saturday, drowning hundreds of excursioners, has cast it shadow full upon a Brooklyn home. They are to be taken to the home of Mrs. Charles Henry Stearns, Mr. Stearns was so affected today by the death of her brother, her sister-in-law, and her little niece that she could hardly speak. No word of how they were drowned, or how they struggled to come out of the water alive, has come to her, nor of how their bodies were rescued from the Eastland.

His wife, Mrs. Stearns said, she thought, was formerly Miss Arie Anderson, but she was not sure. She was about 26 years old. Up to about two years ago they lived in Manhattan, Mr. Clarke working for the local office of the Western Electric Company. Little Eleanor was 6 months old when they moved to Chicago. Surviving relatives of Mr. Clarke are his mother, Mrs. Joseph Calvitt Clarke Jr.
